Amazon Games
Also called prime gaming launcher, amazon games app
Launcher for Prime Gaming claims you install on this PC. The process is Amazon Games.exe. It is not Luna cloud play.
What you need to know
Amazon Games installs Prime claims. Luna streams in the cloud.
Amazon Games.exe is a local launcher. Luna is Amazon’s cloud service. Some Prime games never appear here because they go to Epic or GOG.
- What is it?
- Launcher for Prime Gaming PC installs
- Same as Luna?
- No. Luna is cloud streaming
- Every Prime game?
- No. Some redeem in Epic or GOG
What is Amazon Games?
Amazon Games is Amazon’s Windows launcher for Prime Gaming titles that install locally. Amazon Games.exe is not the Luna stream window.
If you have never used it
If you claimed a Prime Gaming PC game that installs on Windows, this is the Amazon Games app. Claim on the Prime Gaming site, then download the client Amazon points to. Sign in with Amazon. It is not Luna. Luna is Amazon’s cloud streaming. A Prime title can also send you to Epic, GOG, or another launcher instead of this exe.
What is it used for?
Download games Prime put in this locker. Luna streams a different catalog in a browser or TV app.
Some Prime pages send you to Epic or GOG instead. This exe will stay empty for those claims.
Sign in with the Prime-holding Amazon account. A Steam login will not see these claims.
Who is it for?
- Prime members who claimed a Windows Prime Gaming title
- People who mixed this launcher up with Luna
- Anyone whose Prime offer actually landed in Epic, not here
Current status
Amazon Games (2020) is a current prime gaming launcher from Amazon. The vendor still points Windows users at https://www.amazon.com/gp/video/primesave/games.
How old is it?
Amazon opened a Windows games client around 2020 as Prime Gaming grew. Luna is a separate cloud brand. Twitch Prime’s older loot story predates this exe. A 2018 “claim on Twitch, play on Steam” memory is still true for some offers, and those offers never open Amazon Games.exe.

Common problems
Claim missing in this app
Read the Prime offer. Many titles redeem in Epic, GOG, or Riot instead of Amazon Games.exe.
People open Luna for a downloadable claim
Luna will not put a 40 GB installer on this disk. That is this app’s job.
Getting unstuck
Claim on the Prime Gaming site first
The Windows app only sees titles that offer already assigned to this locker.
Install the client from Amazon’s Prime Gaming download, not a portal
Search ads wrap Amazon Games Setup. The Amazon page is the real path.
Sign in with the Prime Amazon account
A second Amazon login looks empty. That is not a missing GPU.
Alternatives
Luna if the offer is cloud-only. Epic or GOG if Prime sent you there. Steam if the developer also sold a key.

The launcher is light. Each claimed game sets its own GPU bar. Luna needs a network, not this exe.
