What is Wavebox?
Wavebox is a Chromium desktop workspace that pins web apps into groups. The Windows executable is Wavebox.exe.
If you have never used it
If you want Gmail, Slack, and Docs in grouped workspace apps, this is Wavebox, not Chrome as a generic window. Download it from wavebox.io/download. The process is Wavebox.exe. chrome.exe is Google Chrome. Ferdium and Rambox are other workspace wrappers.
What is it used for?
Gmail, Calendar, and chat sites in one Wavebox window. A normal Chrome window is not this workspace UI.
Wavebox documents cookie isolation between apps. That is the product job.
The workspace stays resident so pings arrive. Closing Chrome does not quit Wavebox.exe.
Who is it for?
- People who live in several web apps at once
- Users comparing Wavebox with Ferdium or Rambox
- Anyone who thought it was just Chrome with a skin
Current status
Wavebox (2017) is a current workspace browser from Wavebox. The vendor still points Windows users at https://wavebox.io/download/.
How old is it?
Wavebox launched in 2017 as a Chromium workspace browser. It is newer than Chrome and not a 2010 Franz-only story. Current Wavebox still groups site apps in one window.

Common problems
RAM follows pinned apps
Each site app is Chromium cost. Unpin unused apps before you replace a GPU.
People close chrome.exe to stop Wavebox pings
Wrong exe. Wavebox.exe is this product.
Getting unstuck
Install from wavebox.io/download
A Wavebox pro crack is junk.
Use wavebox.io/support for cookie and group issues
Chrome Help will not name Wavebox groups.
Quit Wavebox from its tray, not Chrome
Site apps can keep helpers alive after you close one pane.
Alternatives
Chrome with separate profiles if you do not want a workspace shell. Ferdium or Rambox if you want an Electron wrapper instead.
