What is Wacom Center?
Wacom Center is the settings UI that ships with current Wacom drivers. It does not replace a missing tablet, and it will not drive a Huion or XP-Pen device.
If you have never used it
If you plugged in a current Wacom tablet, this is the settings window for pen feel, mapping, and firmware. Download the driver pack from wacom.com. The tablet is the hardware. Older Intuos or Cintiq units may still open Wacom Desktop Center or Tablet Properties instead.
What is it used for?
Pressure, tilt, and display mapping. This is not Photoshop brush settings.
Tablet buttons and driver updates Wacom ships for that model.
Desktop Center or Tablet Properties for SKUs Wacom never moved. Wrong app, not a dead USB port.
Who is it for?
- People with a current Wacom tablet
- Artists whose older tablet still needs Desktop Center
- Anyone who downloaded a random "Wacom exe" instead of the driver pack
Current status
Wacom Center (2021) is a current tablet settings app from Wacom. The vendor still points Windows users at https://www.wacom.com/support/product-support/drivers.
How old is it?
Tablet Properties is the old Control Panel applet. Desktop Center was the 2010s host. Wacom Center (2021) is the current app for supported tablets.

Common problems
Center empty on an old tablet
That SKU may still need Desktop Center or Tablet Properties. Check Wacom's driver page for the model.
Pen works, mapping is wrong
Fix mapping in Wacom Center, not in the Windows "Pen & Windows Ink" page alone.
Getting unstuck
Install the driver pack from wacom.com for your model
The tablet without Wacom's driver is just a generic pen device. Skip third-party "Wacom full" hosts.
Open Desktop Center if Center is blank
Wacom still documents the older host for leftover hardware.
Restart the Wacom service after a USB move
Unplug, wait, replug. Then reopen Wacom Center. Do not hunt Lenovo or ASUS OEM utility pages.
Alternatives
Huion and XP-Pen have their own tablet apps. Windows Ink is a system pen stack, not a Wacom replacement.
