Tresorit
Also called tresorit drive, tresorit desktop
An end-to-end encrypted enterprise sync client. The process is Tresorit.exe. It is not Dropbox.
What you need to know
Tresorit.exe is encrypted enterprise sync. Dropbox.exe is Dropbox.
Tresorit sells e2e enterprise folders. Dropbox is a different company. A tresor key or invite will not open in Dropbox.

What is Tresorit?
Tresorit is an encrypted file-sync product. Tresorit.exe is the Windows client. Dropbox is a different vendor. A Tresorit "tresor" is not a Dropbox folder.
If you have never used it
If work bought Tresorit for encrypted sync, this is Tresorit, not Dropbox. Download Tresorit.exe from tresorit.com/download. You join with a Tresorit account or an admin invite. Dropbox.exe is Dropbox. Tresorit markets end-to-end encryption for enterprises. That is their product, not Dropbox's default model.
What is it used for?
Admin-controlled encrypted folders. Dropbox sharing is a different permission model.
Tresorit admin. Dropbox Business is a different console.
Tresorit.exe in the tray. It will not sign into dropbox.com.
Who is it for?
- Companies that standardized on Tresorit
- People whose admin sent a Tresorit invite
- Anyone who should not install Dropbox for a tresor
Current status
Actively developed. This article is the Windows desktop client.
How old is it?
Tresorit launched in the early 2010s (TSV year 2011) as encrypted enterprise sync. Dropbox is a 2008 general cloud. Swiss Post later acquired Tresorit. The Windows client is still Tresorit.exe.

Common problems
Invite-only workspace
A personal Dropbox login will not join. Ask the Tresorit admin.
Two enterprise clouds
Tresorit plus Dropbox on one tree is an org problem. Ending one exe does not migrate the other.
Getting unstuck
Install from tresorit.com/download
A "Tresorit free" search ad is the wrong file. dropbox.com/install is the sibling.
Sign in with the Tresorit identity the admin created
SSO may be Entra or another IdP. It is still not a Dropbox password.
Check admin policies if a share is blocked
Tresorit governance, not a Windows firewall mystery, is the first stop.
Alternatives
Dropbox, Proton Drive, and a managed Nextcloud overlap. Dropbox is the sibling this article is not.

Related hardware
Encryption and sync want a working disk and network. A GPU does not matter.
