AblazeBrowsers

A Japanese Firefox fork from Ablaze with extra workspace UI. On Windows the process is floorp.exe.

Feex says
If floorp.exe is open, I would look at Floorp workspaces before I call Firefox broken. Closing firefox.exe does not quit Floorp.

What is Floorp?

Floorp is Ablaze's Firefox-based browser with workspaces and extra toolbar options. The Windows executable is floorp.exe.

If you have never used it

If you want a Firefox fork with extra workspace chrome, this is Floorp from Ablaze, not mozilla.org Firefox. Download it from floorp.app. The process is floorp.exe. Workspaces and extra UI are Floorp features. firefox.exe is stock Firefox.

What is it used for?

Gecko browsing

Daily tabs on a Firefox fork. Site compatibility is Firefox-class, not Chromium-identical.

Workspaces

Floorp groups tabs into workspaces. Stock Firefox does not ship this UI the same way.

Firefox add-ons

Extensions come from addons.mozilla.org. A Chrome Web Store item does not install here.

Who is it for?

  • People who want Firefox plus workspace UI
  • Users who already follow Ablaze builds
  • Anyone who installed Floorp and still looks for firefox.exe

Current status

Floorp (2021) is a current web browser from Ablaze. The vendor still points Windows users at https://floorp.app/.

How old is it?

Ablaze shipped Floorp in 2021 as a Firefox fork with more UI. It is newer than Firefox and Waterfox. Current Floorp still tracks Firefox releases.

Common problems

Workspace chrome confuses a Firefox guide

Floorp docs cover workspaces. A mozilla.org support article will not name those buttons.

People update Firefox and expect Floorp to change

They are separate installs. Floorp updates from Ablaze.

Getting unstuck

Open Floorp docs for workspaces

docs.floorp.app is the vendor map. about:support in Firefox is the wrong profile.

Confirm floorp.exe, not firefox.exe

Program Files should say Floorp or Ablaze Floorp. Mozilla Firefox is the other product.

Install from floorp.app

A Floorp optimizer listing is junk.

Alternatives

Stock Firefox if you want Mozilla UI. LibreWolf if you want stricter defaults without Floorp workspaces.
