Common problems
IDML import is not a full InDesign clone
Some InDesign features do not survive. Keep INDD in InDesign if those features matter.
StudioLink greyed out
Photo and Designer must be the same installer type (MSIX or MSI), per Serif.
Getting unstuck
Confirm Publisher.exe
Affinity Publisher 2 is the v2 folder. InDesign.exe is Adobe.
Match Photo and Designer installers
Mixed MSIX and MSI breaks StudioLink.
Package before you hand off
Missing links are document references, not a Windows font cache bug.
Alternatives
InDesign and the unified Affinity app overlap. Word does not replace Publisher.exe for a multi-page book.
