NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40-series GPU architecture. The RTX 4070 is a common desktop example.

What you need to know

Ada Lovelace is the RTX 40-series architecture.

Desktop Ada cards span a wide power and VRAM range. The SKU name is not a cooler, a length, or a power plug. Read the partner card.

Still good?
Yes, for many 1440p PCs

Feex says
If games feel slow on an Ada card, I would check the CPU, RAM, and the monitor cable before I assume the architecture is old.

What Ada Lovelace is

Ada Lovelace is NVIDIA's architecture for GeForce RTX 40-series GPUs. It is the generation behind cards such as the RTX 4070.

What it means on a PC

You get current-generation features for that series, including DLSS on supported titles. VRAM size still decides how comfortable 1440p and 4K feel. Partner cards change coolers and connectors.

Upgrade notes

Moving to a later NVIDIA series is a card swap, not a socket. Measure the case, the PSU plugs, and the rest of the PC.

  • Read the partner card length
  • Match the power connectors
  • Plug the display into the GPU
